Tuna Croquettes Recipe - bhaarat recipe
Croquettes are a classical dish that exist since the 50s that is usually made with meat, but you can change it for tuna to make a healthful and yummy surprise for your guests! Serve them as appetizers with your favourite sauce, or garnish them with vegetables for a delightful meal. Don't forget you need to make the mixture in the previous evening.
12 oz light Tuna, well-drained

Yields: Makes 4 Servings
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Butter ½ cup Onion, finely chopped 
¼ cup Flour 
⅛ tsp Pepper 
¼ tsp Salt 
⅛ tsp Paprika 
1 cup Milk 
⅔ cup dry Bread Crumbs 
1 Egg 
1 tbsp water 
2 cups vegetable oil
Method of Preparation Tuna Croquettes
1. First, melt butter in a saucepan. 
2. Sauté the onion in melted butter until it's tender. 
3. Add flour, salt, pepper, and paprika to the saucepan, stirring until the mixture bubbles. 
4. Cook for 2 minutes, keep stirring. 
5. Add milk to the cook and stir with wire whisk, until sauce thickens and bubbles. 
6. Add the tuna and blend well. 
7. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and refrigerate for at least three hours or overnight. 
8. When preparing to eat, moist your hands with water and shape the tuna mixture into 8 ovals. 
9. Beat the egg with water in a shallow dish. 
10. Put the bread crumbs in another shallow dish and coat croquettes with it, one at a time. 
11. Right after you coat, dip in egg/water mixture, then again into bread crumbs to coat. Repeat the same procedure for all croquettes.
 12. In a heavy deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil to 350F. 
13. Fry the croquettes for 2 minutes until golden brown on each side. 
14. Drain croquettes on paper towels and serve hot.
